SUPPRESSOR SAFETY

SUS-TAC suppressors/silencers are designed to surpass our own stringent standards so as to provide a safe, accurate, repeatable product. Below are very important safety instructions that must be applied while enjoying the benefits of your SUS-TAC suppressor/silencer.

DISCLAIMER

  • Susman Engineering and Consultancy cc, or any of its staff, hereby known as "The Manufacturer" will not be held responsible for improper usage of a SUS-TAC suppressor. Suppressors are potentially dangerous. It is the user’s responsibility to understand and implement their proper use.
  • The Manufacturer accepts no responsibility for the improper machining of the threads to the firearm. These threads need to be machined by a qualified person/company and needs to be concentric to the bore of the barrel.

GENERAL

  • SUS-TAC Firearm suppressors are user-attached firearm muzzle devices, and as such, are subject to improper attachment issues unless the procedures outlined in this manual are followed precisely. Do not attempt to use this product unless you have specific training and experience in the use of firearms.

SELECTION

  • Suppressor selection according to caliber and load being used is critical. Please take note of the calibers that the suppressor is capable of handling safely. This table can be found on the detail pages for each suppressor

PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)

  • Hearing protection must be worn at all times.
  • Eye protection must be worn at all times.
  • High temperature or welding gloves for removal of hot suppressors

ATTACHING

  • Before performing installing or removing the suppressor, ensure firearm is in a "safe" state. This includes unloading the firearm, keeping the action open at all times, and ensuring the chamber is empty during the entire process. Failure to do so can result in property damage, injury or death.
  • It advisable to apply a thin layer of thread lubricant to the barrel before attaching a suppressor for the first time.
  • Always screw the suppressor onto the barrel in a slow, steady fashion so as to prevent it from galling or damaging the threads.
  • The suppressor must screw hard up against the shoulder on the end of the barrel. This ensures the silencer remains concentric to the bore of the barrel.
  • Poor accuracy and product damage may result if the suppressor is not fully shouldered.
  • Ensure that the suppressor remains securely fastened to the barrel during a prolonged period of use, such as a range or hunting session.
  • Do not use excessive force while installing or removing the suppressor.

REMOVAL

  • Before performing removing or installing the suppressor, ensure firearm is in a "safe" state. This includes unloading the firearm, keeping the action open at all times, and ensuring the chamber is empty during the entire process. Failure to do so can result in property damage, injury or death.
  • Note that the suppressor will reach extremely high temperatures with only a few shots being fired, therefore protective welding gloves should be used during the removal process.
  • If you do not have protective welding glove, allow the suppressor enough time to cool before handling and removal
  • Always screw the suppressor onto the barrel in a slow, steady fashion so as to prevent it from galling or damaging the threads.
  • Do not use excessive force while installing or removing the suppressor.
